Infrastructure

The existing research infrastructure is valued closed to 6.5 M Euros and consists in over 20 research equipment with an individual value of more than 100,000 Euros considered fundamentally for increasing the ICSTM of VUT chances of absorbing funds from:

  • national and international CDI projects
  • the institutional development fund (CNFIS-FDI)
  • contracts with other universities, institutes, agencies, organizations and economic agents.

ORIEL INSTRUMENT’S IQE-200 MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

Oriel Instrument’s IQE-200 system allows the measure of External Quantum efficiency (EQE) also known as Incident Photon to Charge Carrier Efficiency (IPCE) as well as Internal Quantum Efficiency (IQE) for solar cells, detectors, or any other photon-to-charge converting device.

FLUKE TI400 THERMAL IMAGER

Standard infrared lens and autofocus with technology LaserSharp; temperature range : -20 ° C and 1200 ° C; thermal sensitivity: ≤ 0.05 ° C at a target temperature of 30 ° C; resolution: 320 x 240 (76,800 pixels); spatial resolution: 1.31 mRad; field of view: 24 ° horizontal x 17 ° vertical.

HDO6104-MS HIGH DEFINITION OSCILLOSCOPE

Bandwidth: 350 MHz – 1 GHz; analogic channels: 4; digital channels: 16; sample rate (all channels): 2,5 GS/s; memory (per channel): 50 Mpts/ch; digital sample rate: 1,5 GS/s;minimum detectable pulse width: 2ns; maximum input frequency: 250 MHz.

ENERGY ANALYZER c.a.

The c.a. 8335 (Qualistar+) is a three-phase network analyzer with colour graphic display and built-in rechargeable battery. It plays three roles, and can be used:  to measure the RMS values, powers, and perturbations of electric distribution networks;  to deliver a snapshot of the principal characteristics of a three-phase network;  to track the variations of various parameters over time.

GAS ANALYZER THREE SENSORS KIGAZ 200 PRO

KIGAZ Tool 200 is a gas analyzer that can be supplied with two interchangeable sensors (O2 and CO -H2) being able to add another sensor (NO or CH4) and three interchangeable sensors (O2, CO, H2 and NO) having the possibility to add a 4th sensor (CH4). Main functions are:  autozero duct;  protection of CO sensor with a solenoid valve;  LED illumination probe handle in dark places;  condensate Trap outdoor;  screen 3.5 ” greyscale;  2 connectors for thermocouples;  memory 2GB.

Photovoltaic modules prototyping system

Photovoltaic modules prototyping system is equipped with: – equipment for connecting and assembling photovoltaic cells (PV cells can have dimensions of 20 mm x 20 mm and 15.6 cm x 15.6 cm); – laminator for photovoltaic modules (the dimensions of the solar modules: max.600mm x 600mm); – solar simulator for photovoltaic modules STC (Standard Test Conditions – IEC 61215) – testers for characterization of photovoltaic modules strings (conversion efficiency, I-V characteristic, short circuit current ISC, VOC circuit voltage, Pmax, Imax, Vmax).

Reactor Stand – Mechatronic system for obtaining mixtures by mechanical agitation

Mechatronic system for obtaining mixtures by mechanical agitation is equipped with: – Tank 10 L with temperature sensor and level sensors – Heating unit 1000 W / 230 V AC, with temperature control, +65 °C max – Few types of mechanical stirrer with speed control – Pumps, source 24 V, digital display, PLC.

1 – OnGrid Rooftop Photovoltaic generator – 33.15kWp (Comprised of PV Si mono/poli/amorf, CIGS modules; OnGrid transformerless invertors, as follows: 70x Q.Cells Q.Pro-G3 245 Wp; 70x Calyxo CX3 80 Wp; 40x Bauer Solartechnik BS-260-6MB-5 260 Wp; 6x SMA 5000TL-21 5kW) 2 – OffGrid BIPV windows shading and curtain wall installation – 42.5kWp (Comprised of PV poli-Si modules, hybrid invertors, as follows: 120x Altius AFP semitransparent 250 Wp; 51x Q.Cells Q.Pro-G3 BLK 245 Wp; 7x Victron Multiplus 5kW; 2x Victron Multiplus 3kW; 100x Victron VRLA Gel Deep Cycle 220Ah) 3 – Large Array Solar Tracker 3.75kWp (2 Axis Large Array Solar Tracker, 25mp endowed with 15x Q.Cells Q.Pro-G3 BLK 245 Wp; 2x SMA SunnyBoy 2kW) 4 – Experimental 2Axis mobile Tracker (10x Solibro SL2 CIGS 120 Wp; 10x AscentSolar WaveSol-2 flexibile 50 Wp) 5 – Environmental DataLogging (Solar Tracker Kipp&Zonen Solys 2 with the following installed sensors: 3x CMP22 Pyranometer; 1x CGR4 pyrgeometer; 1x CHP1 Pyrheliometer; DataLogger Campbell Scientific CR1000 – BSRN setup).

Experimental Thermo Solar Platform

1 – Thermo Solar system for building heating contribution – 26kWp (12x Westech SP-S58/1800A-20 EHPT heat pipe collectors; 5x Alfa-Bit Beta 58/1800-12 evacuated tube collectors; 10x Tesy SP 07 250 ASL flat-plate collectors; 3x Taconova Tacosol Circ ZR High efficiency pump station; 3x Ferroli Ecounit 1000 – 2WB heat exchange and storage) 2 – Domestic Hot Water Thermo Solar system – 600liters (2x SunSystem 300l thermo siphon, 4x flat-plate collectors) 3 – Adsorption Chiller – 32kWp (2x SorTech eCoo 2.0).

Experimental Aeolian Platform

1 – OnGrid terrestrial wind generator – 20kWp (1x Aeolos HAWT upwind 10kW, 24m monopole, horizontal axis; 1x Aeolos VAWT 10kW, 260rpm, 18m monopole, vertical axis; 2x ABB Wind interface 15kW; 2x ABB PVI-12.5-TL-OUTD-W) 2 – MagLev energy recovery wind generator – 3kWp (1x Typmar Maglev CXF-3000W 96V) 3 – RoofTop SmallWind generator – 2kWp (1x Aeolos HAWT 1kW, with tail; 1x Aeolos VAWT 1kW) 4 – Environmental DataLogging (1x Gill Instruments MetPak + WindMaster Pro 3D Anemometer).
