Infrastructure

The existing research infrastructure is valued closed to 6.5 M Euros and consists in over 20 research equipment with an individual value of more than 100,000 Euros considered fundamentally for increasing the ICSTM of VUT chances of absorbing funds from:

  • national and international CDI projects
  • the institutional development fund (CNFIS-FDI)
  • contracts with other universities, institutes, agencies, organizations and economic agents.

Karl Fischer Coulometric Titrator C20

Electrochemical system for determination of water traces in various samples (range of water content in samples from 1 ppm to 5%). Compact equipment with coulometric cell without diaphragm, titration vessel, platinum electrode, automatic system for draining / solvent manager (ISO 10337 or equivalent compatible); sample weight (liquid or solid): 10 µg – 200 mg; color displayed (selectable measurement unit); method creation and saving, through existing software; resolution H2O: 0.1 µg. Samples from the domains: petroleum industry, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food industry, etc.

Halogen Moisture Analyzer HS153

Equipment for moisture determination of solid samples through differential weighing. The equipment consists of a balance and a halogen heating unit. The system provides fast heating and precise temperature control, shorter heating-cooling cycles can also be performed; sample weight is shown on the digital display color (selectable measure unit); correction factors can be used, through software setting; measurement range (resolution): weight 2 – 150 g (1 mg), temperature: 40°C – 230°C (1°C); moisture content – resolution 0,01% (sample weight min. 10 g), respectively 0,05 % (sample weight min. 2 g).

Multiparameter – Multi 9430

Digital precision electrochemical meter for: pH (0…14); conductivity (0.00 µS/cm … 2000 mS/cm); dissolved oxygen measurements (0.00 … 19.99 mg/l ). 3 dedicated electrodes and selectable resolution (0.001/0.01/0.1). Functions: calibration procedures (max. 5 points); automatic stability control; automatic sensor recognition; selectable measurement units; automatic temperature compensation; continuous measurement control.

Selecta Fat Extractor N6

Fat extractor through Soxhlet method, with 6 places. Working temperature 90-240°C. Solvent volume up to 50 mL. Extraction time 0-99 min. Water consumption 2 L/min. 600 W.

Thermostatic bath

Thermostating unit using water or silicon oil. Equipment with 12 liter volume, stainless steel interior, with 4 places. Temperature range: ambient + 5oC – 1100C, with ±0.1°C resolution, and 10C temperature stability.

Laboratory Chemical Reactor

It is designed with a removable wireless controller and a digital TFT display. It automatically adjusts the speed through microprocessor-controlled technology within the speed range of 0/4 – 530 rpm (two-speed ranges). The stirrer comes equipped with a RS 232 and a USB interface to control and document all parameters.

Lyophilizer BK-FD10

Freeze Dryer @ – 55 °C, including vacuum pump (≤ 10 Pa). Equipment useful for sample preservation via pre-freezeing and water sublimation under vacuum. Water capture capability: 3 kg / 24 hours Drying cabinet with sample disposal in 4 trays (200 x 20 mm) or in 8 bottles. Drying time: 24 h Electronic control of temperature, with USB disk interface for data storage.

Analytical balance Pioneer

Digital laboratory analytical balance with internal calibration, and 3 doors. Capacity: max. 210 g Rezolution: ± 0.1 mg.

Ultrasound cleaning bath USC500TH

Stainless steel equipment for cleaning via ultrasounds suitable for complex geometry, such as fins, undercuts, boreholes etc. Capacity: 4.2 liters Frequency: 45 kHz Temperature: ambiental+5 … 80 °C (accuracy 2°C) Time: 1 … 99min. (resolution 1 min.)

Laboratory Oven Venticell

– precise and fast laboratory drying oven – chamber volume 111 litres – temperature range from 10°C above ambient to 250/300°C – forced air circulation system in the chamber guarantees homogeneous temperature distribution in all the processes of drying, heating and sterilization of materials in laboratories – high operation comfort, precise temperature control and short chamber temperature equalization times after the door opening – higher speed and accuracy of all the tempering procedures ensures economical operation, especially suitable for high humidity materials, for demanding and accurate tests and processes – wide selection of optional equipment and accessories – output for connecting a printer or PC – possibility of validation (IQ, OQ).
