Infrastructure

The existing research infrastructure is valued closed to 6.5 M Euros and consists in over 20 research equipment with an individual value of more than 100,000 Euros considered fundamentally for increasing the ICSTM of VUT chances of absorbing funds from:

  • national and international CDI projects
  • the institutional development fund (CNFIS-FDI)
  • contracts with other universities, institutes, agencies, organizations and economic agents.

Installation for thin film deposition by sol-gel coating (DIP COATER)

The Nadetech ND 3D Multi Axis Dip Coater is an optimal equipment for the deposition of layers on different surfaces through different deposition techniques such as Layer-by-Layer assemblies, Sol-gel coatings, or Self-assembled monolayers. The ND-3D Coater enjoy a 2 axis programmable system. One axis is for vertical displacement and the other for movement in the horizontal plane. This configuration offers a high versatility for multistep deposition which requires the consecutive immersion in vessels with different solutions in a higher space. The range of immersion and dipping-out speed is very broad, from a minimum speed of 0,6 millimeter per minute to a maximum of 1000 mm per minute. The vertical axis has a maximum displacement of 250 mm and the horizontal axis may work in an area of 500 x 200 mm. Depending on the volume and size of the vessels or trays arranged for the deposition cycles, multi-step immersions in different solutions can be programmed in a single work cycle. Technical specifications: – Vertical displacement: 200 mm – Horizontal displacement: 500×250 mm – Minimum Dipping Speed: 0,6 mm/min – Maximum Dipping Speed: 1000 mm/min – Maximum weight sample: 1500 g.

Wire bonder machine

The KS – 4526 Auto-Stepback Wedge Bonder is used with aluminum wire, gold wire, and ribbon. It is especially appropriate for your high-quality applications requiring tight control of wire length and loop formation. The KS-4526 offers control of individual bond parameters and programmable loop formation along with the capability of using a wide variety of wires. The new bonding head, with the deep access option and adjust system, makes it ideal for deep cavity microwave applications where tight control over the tail length is required.

Portable Chlorophyll Fluorometer PAM-2100

The PAM-2100 features a built-in PC and, hence, has become even more compact and suited for stand-alone operation under field conditions. – An LCD-display and a 20-key board are integrated into the top cover of the instrument, thus simplifying operation under field conditions. – Alternatively, particularly for work under laboratory conditions, an external keyboard and an external monitor can be connected. This facilitates data analysis and system programming considerably. – A Li-ion battery provides increased power for extended time of field work. – The new Trans2100 software is provided for transfer of data from the PAM-2100 to an external PC running under Windows. – The new PamWin software can serve for display of the transferred data under Windows (including Windows XP) as well as for carrying out measurements under Windows. – The instrument software DA-2100 is stored on a programmable “flash card” and can be readily updated via the RS 232 interface without opening the instrument.

Mobile micro-robotic system for manipulating unicellular organisms comprises a motion arena supported by a platform

The invention relates to a mobile micro-robotic system for manipulating/sorting unicellular organisms. According to the invention, the system comprises a motion arena supported by a platform; the arena having in its corners four circular ports allowing the connection of four micropumps which introduce or remove the micro-organism-carrying liquid from the arena, the circular ports communicating with the center of the arena by means of some microchannels acting as cell-directing elements, a system of coils generating an electromagnetic field and being arranged in the shape of a cross in order to ensure the motion of the micro-robotic ferromagnetic agent, and an electronic circuit for controlling the micro-robotic agent.

Active noise control laboratory

To develop and evaluate an integrated solution for adaptive distributed networks by examining the required number of microphones and loudspeakers that enable real-time implementation and weighting advantages and disadvantages of the investigated algorithms. SoNoScout NVH Binaural Recording and Analysis System

SoNoScout NVH Type 3653-A is a focused automotive NVH tool for two-channel sound data acquisition and analysis. SoNoScout is highly portable, versatile and very easy to use. For maximum recording flexibility, the system provides phantom or ICP® power and optionally can record digital signals direct. For simultaneous recording of audio and positional data, a GPS unit is included.
